Directions & Parking

The Museum is located in the City's Historic District, one block from Independence National Historic Park and an easy five block walk from the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Driving Directions

From I-95 North:

• Take the I-676 / US-30 exit - exit number 22 - toward CENTRAL PHILA / INDEPENDENCE HALL.
• Take the CALLOWHILL ST ramp toward I-676 E / US-30 E / INDEPENDENCE HALL.
• Turn RIGHT onto CALLOWHILL ST.
• Turn LEFT onto N 6TH St.
• Turn RIGHT onto ARCH ST.

From I-95 South:

• Take the I-676 exit - exit number 22 - on the left toward US-30 / CENTRAL PHILA / INDEPENDENCE HALL / CALLOWHILL ST.
• Take the CALLOWHILL ST ramp toward I-676 E / US-30 E/ INDEPENDENCE HALL.
• Stay straight to go onto CALLOWHILL ST.
• Turn LEFT onto N 6TH ST.
• Turn RIGHT onto ARCH ST.

From I-76 Schuylkilll Expressway:

• Merge onto VINE ST EXWY / I-676 E / US-30 E via exit number 344 - on the left - toward CENTRAL PHILADELPHIA.
• Take the exit toward I-676 E / US-30 E / BEN FRANKLIN BRIDGE.
• Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto N 6TH ST.
• Turn RIGHT onto ARCH ST.

From the Ben Franklin Bridge:

• Turn SLIGHT LEFT to take the I-676 W / US-30 W ramp.
• Turn RIGHT onto N 7TH ST / N FRANKLIN ST.
• Take the 6TH STREET SOUTH ramp toward INDEPENDENCE HALL.
• Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto N 6TH ST.
• Turn RIGHT onto ARCH ST.

Parking Options

Surface parking is available on Arch Street at the Parkway Parking Lot, located directly behind the Museum. Additional lots are located within a one block radius. There is also metered parking throughout the neighborhood surrounding the Museum.

Public Transportation

The Museum is easily accessible by public transportation. See below for a list of routes and visit SEPTA for a schedule and fare information.

• From the Market Frankford El: Exit at SEPTA's 8th Street Station, which is just one block from AAMP.
• From the Broad Street Subway (Ridge Spur): At the 15th Street/City Hall Station, transfer to the eastbound Market Frankford El. Exit at SEPTA's 8th Street Station, which is just one block from AAMP.
• By Bus: The Museum is accessible by the following SEPTA bus routes: 17, 33, 44, 47, 48, 61 and The Phlash.
• By Commuter Rail Line: Exit at SEPTA's Market East Station, which is three blocks east from the AAMP.

PATCO (from New Jersey):

• Board Eastbound Train. Exit at 8th Street station, which is just one block from AAMP. (PATCO also connects with NJTransit at Broadway and Lindenwold stops in New Jersey.)
