Live the experience.

Live the experience.

Live the experience.

Live the experience.

Live the experience.

For every song, there is a story. Hear them both at Lens Legacy.

In Africa and throughout the African Diaspora, creativity and communication go hand in hand. The spoken arts, in particular, have been crucial to building community, remembering history, and expressing self.

The African American Museum in Philadelphia is committed to linking creativity and communication by facilitating the dialogue between artists and their audiences. Created with the generous support of PNC Arts Alive, Lens Legacy serves as the open portal through which young people can experience and respond to the work of local artists.

Listen in as local performing artists – singers, musicians, poets and more – share stories about their lives, their inspiration, their craft, and their hopes for the future. Then watch clips of their performances here at AAMP.

Or do it in reverse and watch the performance clips first - creativity is flexibility!

Either way... LISTEN... REACT... RESPOND... REFLECT... And be INSPIRED.
