AAMP invites your company to also become an EITC Partner. Children who are exposed to art and who have been provided the opportunity to learn about identity through art, have increased confidence and self-awareness.

AAMP is committed to being a cultural leader within the community and in the classroom, and with support provided by the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, AAMP is able to provide art based, educational programs to thousands of school students annually.

Students who participate in AAMP Education programs:
  • Learn to interpret and reflect life through creating art;
  • Experience an important window into different cultures and values;
  • Develop problem solving and observation skills;
  • Come to appreciate the value of art and history in our lives and society.

Programs Include
The Trailblazers to Freedom Traveling Trunks which extend the Audacious Freedom exhibit to Philadelphia school classrooms. The program brings history into the present with multimedia sensory tools that enhance understanding of complex themes regarding values and culture, laws and politics. Both trunks incorporate young African American actors as on-screen narrators. Along with the artifacts, multi-media presentations and supplementary course curriculum, the trunk enhances the African American studies program mandated by the School District of Philadelphia.

Learning through the Arts - This program references the artwork of African American masters, the program includes a menu of workshop options, including West African Dance and Drum, Colonial Dance, Historical Re-Enactments, Mlanjeni Magical Theatre, Storytelling & Folktales, and Hip-Hop Jazz Musicology. Pre and post workshop consultations with teachers ensure that all of our Learning through the Arts workshops consistently meet the museum’s standards and also fulfill teachers’ expectations.
